About Us

Welcome! I’m Sarah, and I’m so happy you’re here.

My name is Sarah Peterson, and this little corner of the internet is my kitchen, my story, and my invitation to you. Welcome to Cut Cook Taste, where we believe that the best memories are made around the dinner table, and that a good recipe can do more than just feed you—it can bring people together.

For me, it all started in a busy Midwestern kitchen with a screen door that was always swinging open. I have the fondest memories of standing on a stool next to my grandmother, her hands dusted with flour, patiently teaching me how to crimp the edges of an apple pie. She taught me that recipes were really just stories—tales of family, tradition, and love, passed down from one generation to the next.

Then there was my dad, the undisputed king of the weekend barbecue. From him, I learned that cooking could be an event, a celebration. He taught me the magic of a good marinade, the patience needed for a perfectly grilled steak, and the joy of sharing good food with friends under a big American sky.

From My Kitchen to Yours

Life eventually took me from the Midwest to the West Coast, where my love for food grew even more. I fell for the vibrant produce at local farmers’ markets and the incredible diversity of flavors. On a tight budget, I learned to get creative, transforming simple, fresh ingredients into something truly special.

After college, I started a career in marketing, but my heart was always pulling me back to the kitchen. My “5 to 9” became my true passion, and I spent my evenings and weekends testing, tweaking, and perfecting recipes—from the comforting classics I grew up with to new dishes inspired by my travels.

I started Cut Cook Taste for one simple reason: to share that joy and to show you that you don’t need to be a professional chef to make incredible food at home.

My Philosophy: Cut, Cook, Taste

The name of this website is my entire approach to cooking. I believe in getting back to basics and enjoying the process.

  • Cut: It all begins with good ingredients. The simple, satisfying act of chopping fresh vegetables is where every great meal starts.
  • Cook: This is where the magic happens. We’ll explore simple techniques and clear, step-by-step instructions that build your confidence and fill your home with the most amazing aromas.
  • Taste: The final, rewarding moment. This is where we celebrate our hard work and share the delicious food we’ve created with the people we love.

My expertise doesn’t come from a fancy culinary school. It comes from a lifetime of passionate home cooking, from countless hours in a real kitchen learning what works and, just as importantly, what doesn’t.
