Welcome! I’m Sarah, and I’m happy you’re here. Make this incredibly flavorful and crispy Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Shrimp. It is a fast, easy seafood dish perfect for busy weeknight dinners or a quick appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp: If using frozen shrimp, thaw them completely and pat them very dry with paper towels. Drying the shrimp helps achieve a crispy texture.
  2. Season the shrimp: In a medium bowl, toss the dry shrimp with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer temperature to 380°F (195°C) and let it preheat for 3 minutes.
  4. Arrange shrimp: Place the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; work in batches if necessary to ensure crispiness.
  5. Air fry: Cook the shrimp for 6 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time. The shrimp should turn pink and opaque.
  6. Prepare garlic butter: While the shrimp cooks, mix the melted butter and minced fresh garlic in a small bowl.
  7. Toss and finish: Once the shrimp is cooked, immediately transfer them to a clean bowl. Pour the melted garlic butter over the shrimp and toss to coat.
  8. Add Parmesan: Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the buttered shrimp and toss gently until the cheese adheres.
  9. Serve: Transfer the crispy air fryer shrimp to a serving plate. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately as a quick dinner or appetizer.

Notes

  • For the best results when cooking frozen shrimp in the air fryer, make sure you pat them very dry after thawing. Excess moisture prevents crisping.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to your seasoning mix.
  • This recipe works well for small batches, making it ideal for cooking for one or two people. Adjust ingredient amounts as needed.
