Ingredients
Scale
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt (optional, for creaminess/protein)
1/2 small apple, finely diced
1 tablespoon chia seeds or ground flaxseed (optional, for fiber)
1 teaspoon maple syrup or sweetener of choice
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Combine the rolled oats, milk, Greek yogurt (if using), diced apple, chia/flax seeds (if using), maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt in a jar or container with a lid.
Stir all ingredients well until fully mixed.
Seal the container and place it in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
In the morning, stir the oats. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more milk.
Top with extra cinnamon, nuts, or a few extra apple pieces before eating.
Notes
For a high-protein version, mix in 1 scoop of vanilla or unflavored protein powder with the dry ingredients before adding liquid. You may need an extra splash of milk.
If you skip the chia seeds, the texture will be less thick, but still creamy.
This recipe is naturally vegetarian and can be made vegan by using plant-based milk and omitting the Greek yogurt or using a vegan yogurt alternative.
This simple recipe is a great alternative to complex meal planning or relying on meal delivery companies.
