Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups apple cider
  • 2 cups cranberry juice
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon whole allspice berries
  • 4 cups sparkling water or ginger ale, chilled
  • Orange slices, for garnish

  • Cinnamon sticks, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine apple cider, cranberry juice, orange juice, lemon juice, 2 cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and allspice berries.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low, cover, and let steep for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. Strain the spiced cider mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a large punch bowl or pitcher. Discard the spices.
  4. Chill the base mixture thoroughly, at least 2 hours or overnight.
  5. Just before serving, gently stir in the chilled sparkling water or ginger ale.
  6. Garnish the punch bowl with fresh orange slices, fresh cranberries, and additional cinnamon sticks.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a make-ahead base, prepare the spiced cider mixture up to 2 days in advance and store it covered in the refrigerator. Add the sparkling water just before serving.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding a touch of maple syrup or honey to the base if desired.
  • This punch can be easily scaled up for larger gatherings.
  • Consider setting up a fall beverage bar with this punch as the centerpiece, offering additional garnishes like star anise or rosemary sprigs.
  • This recipe is a great alternative to alcoholic beverages for any crowd, including children.
