Make these simple baked ham and cheese croissants for a quick breakfast, brunch, or snack. They use store-bought pastry for a flaky texture, savory ham, and melted cheese, resulting in a crowd-pleasing comfort food ready fast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 large refrigerated crescent rolls (or 1 package of pre-made croissant dough)
  • 8 slices deli ham
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese or Gruyère
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard (optional, for spreading)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. If using crescent roll dough, unroll the dough and separate it into 8 triangles. If using sheeted croissant dough, cut it into 8 equal rectangles or squares.
  3. If you are using Dijon mustard, spread a thin layer on the inside of each dough piece.
  4. Place one slice of ham and one slice of cheese onto the wider end of each dough piece.
  5. Roll the dough up tightly, starting from the wide end and rolling toward the tip, sealing the edges as you go. Place the rolled croissants seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Brush the tops of the croissants lightly with the beaten egg wash for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the croissants are puffed, golden brown, and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of dried parsley or garlic powder over the egg wash before baking.
  • You can substitute the ham and Swiss cheese with turkey and provolone for a different flavor profile.
  • If you want a richer, flakier result, use real butter croissant dough instead of crescent rolls.
