Make this rich and tangy blue cheese dip in minutes. It is the perfect cold dip for buffalo wings, celery, carrots, and chips.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ounces blue cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk or milk
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the crumbled blue cheese in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the mayonnaise, sour cream, buttermilk, white vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper to the bowl.
  3. Use a fork or a small whisk to combine all ingredients until the mixture is mostly smooth but still has small chunks of blue cheese remaining for texture.
  4. Taste the dip and add more black pepper or a small splash of vinegar if you prefer more tang.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to blend.
  6. Serve cold with your favorite wings, raw vegetables, or sturdy chips.

Notes

  • For a thinner consistency, add buttermilk one teaspoon at a time until you reach your desired texture.
  • If you want a flavor closer to a blue cheese dressing, increase the buttermilk to 1/3 cup.
  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream for a slightly lighter dip.
