Ingredients
Scale
2 slices bread (any type)
1 large egg
1 slice cheddar cheese (or preferred cheese)
1 teaspoon butter or oil spray
Pinch of salt
Pinch of black pepper
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Lightly spray the inside of the air fryer basket with butter or oil spray.
Place the two slices of bread in the air fryer basket.
Crack the egg directly onto the center of one slice of bread, trying to keep the yolk intact if possible, or gently scramble it slightly to cover the surface.
Place the slice of cheese on top of the egg.
Place the second slice of bread next to the egg toast.
Lightly spray the top of the cheese and the plain bread slice with oil spray.
Air fry for 6 to 9 minutes, checking after 6 minutes. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is fully melted and bubbly. Cooking time depends on your air fryer and desired egg doneness.
Carefully remove the toast. Season the egg toast with salt and pepper.
Serve immediately for a quick breakfast or snack.
Notes
For a variation, try adding a thin slice of tomato under the cheese before cooking.
If you prefer a crispier base, you can lightly toast the bread in a toaster before adding the egg and cheese and returning it to the air fryer just to melt the cheese.
This recipe is a great alternative to complex meal planning; it is fast and uses minimal ingredients.
