Ingredients
Scale
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
3 large eggs
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup pecan halves
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
2 tablespoons bourbon (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place the unbaked pie crust on a baking sheet.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
Stir in the bourbon, if using.
Arrange the pecan halves and chocolate chips evenly in the bottom of the pie crust.
Carefully pour the egg mixture over the pecans and chocolate chips.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the center is set and the crust is golden brown. A knife inserted near the center should come out clean.
Let the pie cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before serving.
Serve warm or at room temperature, with whipped cream if desired.
Notes
For a set center, ensure the pie is baked until the center is no longer jiggly.
This pie can be made ahead and transported to potlucks.
For a Derby pie style, ensure you include the bourbon.
Serve warm with whipped cream for the best experience.
