Make this simple, creamy seafood salad at home in minutes. It uses imitation crab and shrimp for a refreshing, no-cook dish perfect for lunch or summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound imitation crab meat (surimi), shredded or flaked
  • 1/2 pound cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined, chopped
  • 1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. If using frozen imitation crab or shrimp, thaw them completely and pat them very dry with paper towels.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the flaked imitation crab and chopped shrimp.
  3. Add the finely chopped celery and red onion to the seafood mixture.
  4. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lemon juice, sweet pickle relish, Dijon mustard, and Old Bay seasoning until smooth. This is your seafood salad dressing.
  5. Pour the dressing over the seafood and vegetable mixture.
  6. Gently fold all ingredients together until everything is evenly coated. Avoid overmixing to keep the seafood texture intact.
  7. Season with salt and pepper as needed.
  8. Cover the bowl and chill the seafood salad in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

  • Serve this salad on lettuce cups, as a sandwich filling on toasted bread, or alongside crackers for a potluck.
  • For a lighter version, substitute half the mayonnaise with plain Greek yogurt.
  • If you are planning your weekly meals, this recipe is a great alternative to using expensive meal delivery companies.
