A simple, no-fail chocolate fudge recipe that’s perfect for holidays or any occasion. Learn how to make this classic candy on the stovetop or in the microwave.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow creme

Instructions

  1. Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Bring to a rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for exactly 5 minutes, still stirring.
  3. Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Stir in marshmallow creme and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  5. Let the fudge cool completely at room temperature for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
  6. Once firm, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper. Cut into squares.

Notes

  • For a vanilla fudge, omit the chocolate chips and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • You can add chopped nuts, sprinkles, or other mix-ins after stirring in the chocolate chips.
  • To make in the microwave: Combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 5 minutes, stirring every minute. Continue as in step 3.
  • Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
