Ingredients
Scale
6 medium apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, cut into pieces
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with 2 tablespoons of flour, granulated sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Pour the apple mixture into a 10-inch oven-safe skillet. Dot the top with the 1/4 cup of butter pieces.
In a separate bowl, combine the rolled oats, brown sugar, 1/4 cup flour, and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
Pour the melted butter over the oat mixture and stir until combined and crumbly.
Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples in the skillet.
Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
For an oat-free version, substitute 1 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts for the oats.
