Welcome! I’m Sarah, and I’m so happy you’re here. This easy, thick pizza sauce recipe comes together in minutes using pantry staples. You get rich, bold flavor without any cooking time, making it perfect for your next stress-free pizza night.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 28 ounce can crushed tomatoes (San Marzano recommended for best flavor)
  • 6 ounce can tomato paste
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Gather all your ingredients. You will not be turning on the stove for this recipe.
  2. Pour the crushed tomatoes and tomato paste into a medium bowl.
  3. Add the minced fresh garlic, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, sugar, and black pepper to the bowl.
  4. Pour in the olive oil.
  5. Use an immersion blender or transfer the mixture to a standard blender. Blend until the sauce is smooth and thick. If you prefer a slightly chunkier sauce, pulse briefly.
  6. Taste the sauce and adjust salt or sugar as needed for your preference.
  7. Use immediately on your homemade pizza crust or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

Notes

  • For an even thicker pizza sauce, drain some of the excess liquid from the crushed tomatoes before blending.
  • If you want a deeper flavor without cooking, let the blended sauce rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before using it on your pizza.
  • This recipe is naturally Gluten Free, Vegan, and uses simple Pantry Staple Recipes.
