You can make this irresistible Creamy Garlic Parmesan Chicken right in your skillet. This straightforward method creates a rich, flavorful chicken dish perfect for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thin-sliced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the thin-sliced chicken breasts evenly with salt, pepper, paprika, and chili flakes, if using.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken and cook for 5 to 7 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside on a plate.
  3. Reduce the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic to the same skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic burn.
  4. Pour in the chicken broth and use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let the broth simmer and reduce slightly for about 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  6. Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Taste the sauce and add more salt or pepper if needed.
  7. Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy garlic Parmesan sauce over them. Heat through for 1 to 2 minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley before serving immediately. This is a great weeknight chicken dinner.

Notes

  • For a crispier texture, you can dredge the chicken lightly in flour before searing, but this recipe focuses on a creamy finish.
  • If you want a lemon garlic parmesan chicken flavor, add 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice with the heavy cream.
  • Serve this easy garlic parmesan chicken over pasta, rice, or with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
