Achieve ultra-crispy Brussels sprouts with a glossy, sweet, and tangy glaze. These roasted sprouts are a beautiful and simple side dish perfect for holiday tables or weeknight meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Optional: 1/4 cup chopped pecans or dried cranberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  4. Roast for 20-25 minutes, or until tender and the edges are crispy, flipping halfway through.
  5. While the sprouts are roasting, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, combine balsamic vinegar, honey, and minced garlic.
  6. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens into a glaze.
  7. Once the Brussels sprouts are roasted, remove them from the oven.
  8. Drizzle the honey balsamic glaze over the sprouts and toss to coat.
  9. If using, sprinkle with pecans or cranberries.
  10. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, ensure the Brussels sprouts are dry before tossing with oil.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey.
  • This recipe is a great base for meal planning and can be a healthy side dish option.
