Ingredients
Scale
1 cup milk (any kind)
2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
1–2 tablespoons sugar (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup strong brewed coffee or espresso
Whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
In a saucepan, combine milk, pumpkin puree, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract.
Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is hot and steaming, but not boiling.
Remove from heat. If you prefer a smoother texture, you can strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve.
Pour the hot pumpkin mixture into a mug.
Add the brewed coffee or espresso to the mug.
Stir well to combine.
Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice, if desired.
Notes
For a dairy-free version, use your favorite non-dairy milk like almond, oat, or soy milk.
Adjust the sugar and pumpkin pie spice to your personal preference.
For an iced version, let the hot mixture cool, then pour over ice and top with cold coffee or espresso.
You can make a larger batch of the pumpkin spice syrup base (steps 1-3) and store it in the refrigerator for up to a week to quickly make lattes throughout the week.
